Welcome to the World of English Pink!
Our “FEATURE OF THE MONTH” offering this time is the BIBLICAL CITIES series by Charles James Mason & Co. and one of the known views, “Hebron,” from that series. A second view marked “The Mosque of Omar,” but featuring the city of Damascus, is featured in the “MYSTERIES, MYTHS AND MALADIES” section and the Mason Family is featured in

HIGHLIGHTING POTTERY’S HEROES.”

“Oriental Villa” ~ 6 by 10.5 inch teapot by William Davenport, Longport (1794-1887)

This website focuses on English transfer-printed wares in the many glorious shades of pink. Although not the most popular color collected in this country − and assuredly not in England − pink does have a following in the United States and in pockets around the globe. Our hope has always been to give our favorite ware the premier platform it deserves, while not denying − or forgetting − the profusion of other hues in which transfer-printed wares are found. If you are not already a regular reader, won’t you join us on our journey?
AT LAST!!!
The Charm of English Pink, the Pots!

After Margie’s long, arduous effort, the book is done!

The 414-page manuscript is at the printer and will be available for mailing within the month. The book is simply the latest chapter in the author’s ongoing study of one of England’s greatest industries,  Nothing in transferware’s extensive range escapes her scrutiny; from pepper pots to chamber pots, she covers it all!

The monumental text examines 326 patterns in depth, noting all known potters and forms for each one.  Also included is a massive list of additional patterns known to have been transfer-printed in pink; there is a look at EP’s mysteries and orphans, a glossary of transfer-speak, plus vignettes of interesting associated subjects.
